As I commented on ratzo's blog,
"...Black Panther's mask looks a hot mess.Yuck.
Why make him look like a Black "Wildcat" or a poor man's Batman when you can have his face either covered completely or completely uncovered.
Either would look hella better than Wild-Black-Man-Cat."

I saw that cover too and I'm assuming that its exclusive to only the DVD. I've been reading comics a long time and I've never even seen Black Panther drawn that way. In fact, his depiction here looks more like WildCat from DC and there's no way Marvel would make a hero in the very same illustrative vein as one from the competition.
I'm all kindsa confused.

I said he looks like WildCat.

Eh?
These folks draw "inspiration" from one another fairly often.
But we seem to agree that he looks funky and that's what counts! :p
LOL!! I somehow missed the italic's in blue text that you indicated how great in resemblance WildCat and Black Panther looked. I only read the "orange" text.. D'uhhh! (it was a long afternoon for a brotha West, bear with me dude)
Hehehe. I've been there, man.
re: "illustrative veins"
Take a look at the Squadron Supreme, some time... or the now-deceased Mockingbird.
*makes note of the fact that my tan text looks orange on some monitors*
Yeah, that costumne is horrible. His original costume is perfect. They should stick with that. I wish they would just let Chris Preist write him forever. The Hudlin stuff is weak. It might have been ok if Chris had not already redefined the Black Panther.
Welcome, raiden.
Good point about Priest. Maybe that's another reason people are reacting so to Hudlin's changes... they may too soon after Priest's changes.
