One of the most interesting elements of this technological boom is the onset of ubiquity. Like computers have become so commonplace that everyone ASSUMES that everyone else has one, tablet devices that are iterated annually will become more and more affordable because the used ones will flood the market more and the competing ones will try to remain competitively priced. Soon, EVERYone has one and just like that, the world changes. Children are learning more quickly and easily, carrying fewer books around. Businesses become more mobile and flexible. Everybody's quality of life has the potential to increase.
It's not hyperbole, either. How much did affordable televisions change the world?
