Please spare me hypocrites and their sycophants.
I think I've had enough of that shit for two lifetimes. I've got my own mind and am under no obligation to present opinions that mirror your own, no matter how much you may be used to that.
As far as delivery goes, it's amazing to me how the people most likely to talk down to you who are the ones with the thinnest skin.
Learn to get as good as you give. In the mean time, do miss me with the bullshit, won't you?

This isn't about the discussion on a certain blog, which I don't see on your links list anymore?
Too bad, I like both of you and will continue to read both of your blogs. No dis meant to either of you.
I've gotten into similar arguements on race issues with others with similar results. In this case I think the best you'll get is agree to disagree.
PS:
If she did have a problem with your comment, I think she should have taken the discussion offline.
Sorry to hear that someone has gotten you peeved. People have to learn to take it especially if they dish it out.
True dat.
re: "This isn't about the discussion on a certain blog, which I don't see on your links list anymore?"
It absolutely is. Enough is enough.

Understood.

I've been here before.
There's little reason to expect things to change, so I've removed myself from the situation.

Maybe so.

Yeah...I tend to do that too. I don't know if you guys are tite or just a casual association. If the latter definitely for the best. Life's too short for continously arguing.
Unless you're married.
(No, I'm not talking about you, dear. Please put the lamp down...)
Gotta go.
Whew! Just checked the blogroll and I'm still there.
:)
re: "Whew! Just checked the blogroll and I'm still there.

Ha!
Nah. It's definitely not you.
I don't know if that particular person even peruses my site, anymore, but she knows how I feel, already.
No surprises.
In fact, I'm gonna take this opportunity to express something that oughta be dead, but that keeps occurring to me.
She claims that my "give as good as you get" comment doesn't apply - that she's not overly sarcastic or anything, yet she admits that one of her favorite or most frequently visited blog-buddies is quite sarcastic and/or condescending.
I'm not saying we're all exactly like our friends (I REALLY hope not), but the e-company we keep says something about us.
My point stands. If you're sarcastic and/or condescending as all hell, don't whine when you get the same treatment from others.
Here's something -- the female blogger in question does not, in my experience, ever take a disagreement private. When someone pisses her off, she spanks them in public, and I presume this is because she is trying to teach a very public lesson to all the other asskissers in her threads -- "irritate Me, and this is what shall happen to you".
You'll note that no one who irritates her lasts very long in her threads.
As to her rarely being sarcastic, well, that's horseshit; she tries to be sarcastic frequently, she's just not very good at it.
This whole thread, including the comment section seems very high school to me. It reminds me of a 16 year old girl posting her hate for a fellow classmate on myspace or something.

If it is a juvenile gesture, it's certainly no moreso than that which inspired it.
That said, I see nothing juvenile about voicing one's distaste for certain behavior - especially considering the circumstances.
But consider, if my choice to express my displeasure is somehow juvenile, then so is your choice to do so in my comments section... anonymously.
Have a great weekend.

I think the juvenille part was what prompted this whole thing. West is justified in his response.
It seems that the female blogger in qustion is in a bit of a snit right now (by her own admission) and is taking it out on anyone who dares "challenge" her opinions on the way she sees things. I thought the purpose of blogs was for an interesting and sometimes humorous exchange of ideas. Guess I was wrong...

Yeah, well, my own personal expreience says to me that she is like that ANY time someone challenges her thoughts when she doesn't want it. As if she gets to decide what is challengable and what isn't.

No, you aren't. Just looking to the wrong person to find it. There are plenty of them out there. Just not the one under discussion here.

Oh, she's plenty sarcastic and condescending. Don't let her make you think otherwise for a minute.

Oh, I can completely back you up on that. Even if you attempt to be private yourself, she will not. Also, you need to watch what you say around those who are her "friends", as they have no respect for your speaking privately or with candor to them when mentioning the blogger in question.
It's funny, but in one of the last times I ever spoke with her (publicly, that is), I made mention to her that when you are trying to espouse a point or reasoning to people, you won't be able to reach everyone. that some folks just have to be seen as a lost cause, which simply wastes your time and efforts. Who knew that I was actually saying that to one of those very types? ;)
Good blog, btw. I'll have to consider linking you at mine.
re: "Good blog, btw."
Thanks.
re: "Where was the argument?"
It's one of those things that's taken place over time, really. The most recent flare-up was basically "the straw," y'know?
No biggie. I'm not trying to get people together to agree with me or judge her or whatever. I just needed to vent about behavior that I've seen too much of over the years... behavior to which this particular blogger certainly doesn't have exclusive rights.
But welcome! :-)
Just came across your blog. As someone who has gotten into "debates"(if you can call what they were reduced to debating) that were then posted about, twisted, and linked from her blog to try to convince herself she is a great debater, I see your frustration.
I find it a source of good entertainment. It's always amusing watching people twist reality for their own comfort. Especially when they can't handle receiving what they try to dish out to others.
Hard as it is, I'd do my level best to block her out--she's pretty nuts. I actually only read her blog for the trainwreck.
Maybe that's part of the problem. Maybe you shouldn't do that. It only empoweers her to thinking people care what she thinks and are interested to hear more. I haven't gone back to her place since the falling out we had. I'd suggest that anyone who has had similiar dealings with her do the same. The only way to take the power trip she lives on, is to cut her out of your life completely.
Isn't blogging the same as journaling, except you don't do it with a pen or paper? What's so friggin' high school about sharing your thoughts on "your own" blog? Gimme a break. Looks like someone is rounding up the posse and dispatching them to your comments section. That's all it boils down to.
How da hell I mess this one?
Maybe it's just me tho. I have a tendency of DELETING inflammatory comments, as if to say *gasp* "IT DOESN'T MATTA WHATCHU THINK!" ala the Rock mode. That seems to piss them off more.
I ain't been "delivered" from tactfully slicing throats with my words yet, so I TRY to spare people of my floggings.
