Although I haven't gone on about them, in some time, a number of folks are aware that I am an NPR junkie, of sorts. In the past several months, I've tried out and grown quite fond of their podcasts.
For those that may not know, podcasts are just recordings of audio programming, like radio shows. These recordings can be played on computers, iPods, or other digital media players.
I'm extremely fond of their "Story of the Day" and "Driveway Moments" podcasts. If you only listen to one NPR story, that day, the "Story of the Day" is the one they'd recommend. "Driveway Moments" are described as those NPR segments that are so good, you'd sit in your driveway a little while longer, just to hear the whole thing.
My grandmother's recent health scares lead me out-of-town, for a few days. While on the road, these podcasts, more than any other, kept my mind stimulated (and distracted) for the lion's share of my journey. I was months behind on my listening, so this was a great opportunity to play catch-up.
They may be thought-provoking, fun, or anything in-between. More often than not, I've found them to be entirely worth listening to.
Absolutely fantastic stuff that I highly recommend. If you ever decide to check out NPR podcasts, but aren't sure where to begin, start with these two free podcasts.
If you ever do, please come back and let me know what you think, even if you disagree with me.

Thanks West I'm always down for stimulating the mind. I'll let you know what I think.
I look forward to it.
I'll have to check out NPR podcasts. I trust your good taste in things because you always tell us about good stuff that's going on.
I left you a comment on your last post. LOL.
I'm happy to have earned your trust, jojo d.
I hope you dig'em. The "Driveway Moments" are especially good.
Hey - great blog! I'll stop by more often!
West,
If you get bored some night, check out the stuff that CBC Radio has to offer. It's a nice compliment to the NPR stuff we dig.
