Female Empowerment and Liberation: Double-Edged Swords

Too many people get it twisted. The boycotts of the 60's weren't to guarantee that Blacks never sit in the backs of buses, again. It was to guarantee us the right to choose.
Similarly, I think those who claim to be in favor of empowering and liberating women need to be prepared for some of those same women to choose to be stay-at-home mothers, provocatively dressed, and/or sexually promiscuous.

If you're one of those people who believes that everyone should respect a woman's right to say "no," without assuming she doesn't know what she REALLY wants or needs, then you ought to respect her right to say "yes," considering the possibility that she knows exactly what she wants and what that means. Women don't just "get to be grown-ups" when they're doing things that you consider to be "lady-like."

I don't think the person who defends a woman's right to say no, but denies her right to say "yes," is any more respectful than their opponents.

Women should have the right to be just as slutty as men. God bless'em!
